Homeland Security Threat Level: YELLOW (ELEVATED).

No Major Storms Forecast for Tuesday

Cold weather will recede northward into Canada today bringing warmer temperatures to most parts of the U.S. during the upcoming week.

South: The southeast will see some light rain accompanied by fog on Tuesday across the region from eastern Texas through southern Georgia. Temperatures in most of the region will continue to be cooler than normal on Tuesday. Highs will range from the 40s in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee to the 80s in south Texas and southern Florida. 

Northeast: Tuesday will bring light snow in northwest Pennsylvania, interior New York state and northern New England. Temperatures will range from the 20s in upper New York and New England to the 50s in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Midwest: Very light snowfall is forecast for the northern tier in the Dakotas, Minnesota, and northern Michigan. Windy weather on the Plains and in the Upper Midwest will increase the wind chill factor. Highs will range from the 20s to the 40s in the region, north to south.

West: Except for a few showers in western Washington and Oregon, most parts of the region will be dry on Tuesday. Some snow is forecast for parts of Idaho, western Montana and western Wyoming. Highs in the West will be quite moderate, including 50s and 60s in Southern California and 68 in Phoenix, AZ. (NOAA/NWS and Various Commercial and Media Sources)

Volcano Activity

Alaska's Augustine volcano remains at the Current Level of Concern Color Code: ORANGE (volcano is in eruption or eruption may occur at any time). Tropical Activity
