The goal of the Cognitive Neuroscience Consortium is to highlight interdisciplinary approaches in studies of cognitive processing and brain function through basic and clinical research. Thus, the Consortium will focus on the integration of Cognitive Science and Neuroscience and the complex problems involved in the neurobiological basis of cognitive processes. The Consortium brings together interested participants from the extramural scientific community, NIH Program and Review staff and the NIH Intramural scientific community. In addition, the group serves as an active forum for the Extramural Program Directors of the sponsoring NIH Institutes (NINDS, NIA, NIMH, NIDA, NEI) to develop cross-institutes initiatives for the advancement of the field of Cognitive Neuroscience.
Activities of the Consortium are coordinated by the Steering Committee. A general meeting (Seminar or Journal Club) is held every two months on the last Wednesday of the month at 4:15 p.m. in Room 6C10 Building 31. In addition a forum is held on the last Friday of every third month at 4:15 p.m. in Conference Room 2120 of the NSC Building. This forum is reserved for the planning and implementation of cross-institutes initiatives. Attendance is therefore limited to Extramural Program Directors and their staffs.
