Kentucky Camp Cabin Rooms with a View Program
|
Kentucky Camp | History | Buildings | Preservation | Directions | Information | Cabin Rentals For Rent: Rustic adobe cabin in historic Kentucky Camp, in the Santa Rita Mountains. As part of the Forest Service's Rooms With A View program, a small cabin at Kentucky Camp is available for overnight stays, for up to 4 people.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?Use of the cabin is $75 per night. The fees are used to continue restoration work at Kentucky Camp, and to add other Forest Service cabins in Arizona to the “Rooms With A View” rental program.
HOW DO I GET THERE?Drive: Kentucky Camp is located a little over an hour southeast of Tucson, Arizona, in the oak-studded foothills of the Santa Rita Mountains. From Arizona State Highway 83, take the Gardner Canyon Road and follow the signs to Kentucky Camp. The 5 miles from the highway are graded dirt road and can be negotiated in standard sedans, but the final mile is easiest with a high-clearance vehicle, and the roads are slick when wet.
Hike or Bike: Situated along the Santa Rita Mountain Passage of the Arizona Trail, the cabin is available for backpackers and mountain cyclists. The Gardner Canyon trailhead is approximately 5.3 miles southwest, the Oak Tree Canyon trailhead approximately 12 miles northeast. These portions of the Arizona Trail are suitable for livestock, but no corral facilities are available in Kentucky Camp at this time.
