Instructions for downloading the MHVVirtualTour.zip file

You may want to get a copy of the My HealtheVet Virtual Tour and place it on your home computer. There are some things you need to be familiar with to do this. For example:

• You need to be able to navigate your computer's folder and file system.
• You need to be able to place the file, called MHVVirtualTour.zip, in a folder on your computer.
• You need to know about using WinZip. WinZip is a program that "compresses" large computer files so that they can be downloaded faster. If you do not have a copy of WinZip, just click here and then click on "Download Now". You will be led through the process called "Set Up" that places WinZip on your computer.

Procedure:

1. Click on the virtual tour link to download the file. On the "About MHV" and also on the "Virtual Tour" page, it is the "Save Virtual Tour to your PC" hypertext. A dialogue box then appears that asks you what to do next and you will see three to four different choices (options).
2. Select the "SAVE" option.
3. Select the location where you want to store the file. If you do not know where to place the file, select the "DESKTOP".
4. Locate the MHVVirtualTour.zip file you just downloaded onto your computer.
5. Double click the MHVVirtualTour.zip file. This means click on the file twice in quick order. WinZip will then give you a choice about what to do next.
6. Click "Extract". WinZip will ask you where you want to save the file.
7. Choose the folder where you want to place the extracted (uncompressed) files. In these instructions, the "MHV" folder is chosen, but you can place it anywhere.
8. Locate the unzipped files and folders you just extracted. Again, in these instructions they are in the folder called "MHV".
9. Navigate to the "MHVVirtualTour" folder and double-click it.
   
10. In the "MHVVirtualTour" folder, locate the file called "VirtualTour.exe".
    
11. Double-click "VirtualTour.exe". This begins the Tour!
