How do I get a My HealtheVet account?

For the veteran to have access to My HealtheVet, an account must first be established.

    To establish an account:
  1. The veteran's identity must be validated with a picture at a VA Medical Facility.
  2. The VA registrar will access the My HealtheVet Registration screen on the VistA system.
  3. The veteran will be asked to enter a username. A default password will be generated and given to the veteran.
  4. The veteran now has a valid My HealtheVet account accessible via the Internet.
  5. The veteran will click the Log In link where he/she will enter the user name and password received at the VA Medical Facility. The veteran is then instructed to create and confirm a new password.
  6. After the veteran has changed his/her password he/she can log on to the system.
  7. The veteran will be able to request a copy of key portions of his/her VistA record to be sent to his/her My HealtheVet eVAult.
