Individual Arrested for Grand Theft, Perjury, and Insurance Fraud
Douglas J. Carver, Special Agent in Charge, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Western Field Office, Los Angeles, CA, announced today that June Jordan of Los Angeles, CA, was arrested on one count of Grand Theft, two counts of Perjury, and two counts of Insurance Fraud.

Carver stated that the joint investigation with the Department of Labor, Office of Inspector General (DOL-OIG) determined that Jordan filed false statements with the VA and DOL, Office of Workers’ Compensation, in order to obtain workers’ compensation benefits. The investigation revealed that while fraudulently receiving workers’ compensation benefits, Jordan owned and operated a counseling service that contracted with various State and local government agencies. Jordan received workers’ compensation benefits totaling approximately $424,511.00.
