Yachats, OR -- Cape Perpetua Visitor Center will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the holiday season, with the exception of December 24 and 25. A great selection of books and gifts with a local coastal theme are available for purchase at the center’s book store. A percentage of the proceeds support interpretive programs at the Cape.

From December 26 – January 1 the center will be a host for Oregon State Park’s Whale Watch program. Guests can enjoy a comfortable seat by the center’s picture windows while viewing the passing California grey whales. Whale Watch volunteers will be on hand to help spot the migrating giants.

“This is the place to come and watch the whales and storms in comfort,” according to Cape Perpetua Park Ranger, Carole Wendler.

Cape Perpetua Visitor Center is administered by the Siuslaw National Forest. A federal recreation pass is needed for parking and can be purchased at the Center. For more information, please call Visitor Center staff at 541-547-3289 or visit us on the web at www.fs.fed.us/r6/siuslaw.
