The symposium was cosponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute; the National Library of Medicine; and the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research. The goal of the symposium was to develop an agenda of innovative ways in which the domain of information technology and medical informatics can be used to help fulfill the mission of the National Heart Attack Alert Program (NHAAP).
