Campfire Permits
Your California campfire permit is valid from the date issued until the end of the calendar year on the Modoc National Forest. A permit is available free-of-charge from any Forest Service, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Bureau of Land Management Office. A California campfire permit is required for a fire outside a developed campground or recreation area. Remember to follow the regulations found on your campfire permit. Failure to do so could result in suppression costs being charged to you should your campfire escape.
South Warner Wilderness Area In the South Warner Wilderness you must always have a campfire permit to use a backpack stove or build a fire. Related Information Handouts |
