Support for Conferences and Scientific MeetingsClinical Research Resources Links Take Note ON THIS PAGE:
SEE ALSO: Support for Conferences and Scientific Meetings (R13/U13)Requests for support for conferences—either as stand-alone activities or in conjunction with existing professional organizations' conferences or other events—will be considered by NCRR's Division for Clinical Research Resources (DCRR). As indicated in the NIH R13/U13 Funding Opportunity Announcement, applicants can apply for up to five years of support for recurring conferences. If DCRR considers the need to have substantial involvement in the planning and conduct of a scientific meeting, then a cooperative agreement (U13)—instead of an R13 grant—would be considered. Timeline for ApplicationsA written request to submit a conference grant application to NCRR must be received no less than nine months before the proposed conference date. Please submit written requests to the NCRR Conference Grant Contact:
Louise E. Ramm, Ph.D. If the conference is considered a priority for NCRR, then a permission statement to submit a conference grant/cooperative agreement application will be sent to the requester. A copy of this permission statement must be included as part of the Cover Letter for the conference grant/cooperative agreement application. Deadlines for submission of R13/U13 conference funding applications are April 12, August 12, and December 12. Review ProcessThe NIH process involves review by an NCRR Scientific Review Group followed by a second level of review by the NIH National Advisory Research Resources Council. All applications will be reviewed for merit. After the review process is completed, program staff—in coordination with NCRR administration and the Grants Management Office—will consider the application for funding. For detailed information, including application requirements, refer to the Funding Opportunity Announcement.
