Grant Development
The HSR&D Biostatistics Group supports
grant development in the following areas:
Study design
Our staff works with researchers to develop designs that utilize innovations
in data management and data collection (i.e. Palm pilots, Monarch).
We work with researchers to develop study designs that take advantage of new
statistical methodologies.
Analysis planning
An important component of an analysis plan is to identify and document
assumptions critical to the analysis and study design.
We work with researchers to develop an analysis plan that incorporates
advancements in statistical methodologies and documents assumptions of proposed
analyses.
Sample size and power calculations
Our staff has experience with software and statistical packages to calculate
sample size and power.
We document assumptions for power and sample size calculation and can
perform sensitivity analyses on sample size and power calculations.
