COMING SOON!
RENALWORLD
The Nephron Information Foundation will generate grants and funds
for new projects. On schedule is a CME accreditation
program to certify online conferences and events for Category 1 accreditation as established through the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. Other projects planned are
support of an annual one day conference supporting World Kidney Day, kidney education and kidney awareness and "Kidneyman" and "Recipe of the Day,"
Introducing Kidneyman
Kidneyman came to life as a concept developed several years ago by some seniors at Memorial High School, Houston, Texas. It entailed creating a character that youth would identify with, who could help them to explore ways to
shape the culture to become more kidney friendly. This project has been presented to students and teachers, who are being invited to help develop the curriculum and review the content. It will come out in pilot form in the first quarter of 2008.
You can be a Journalist
Much of what we call news is information that we hear about because it involved a celebrity, or happens so suddenly and unexpectedly that it captures the attention of the wire service. Much of what you see and do in your life is also news, but since you are not a journalist, it goes unnoticed. Now, here is your chance - Write a story about a news event that is kidney-related and we will treat it like a newsfeed - review it, edit it, categorize it and if it is newsworthy, publish it. Send your stories to editor@nephron.com.Disclaimers: Submission does not guarantee publication. Stories accepted become the copyright of this publisher, and previously copyrighted stories cannot be published without written permission of the author.
Recipe of the Day
Some of the best meals come not from the recipe books, but from friends, co-workers, colleagues and patients. Send us yours. We will have it reviewed by our renal dietitian, and adapted for kidney patients. It might be published as the recpie of the day, and will also be archived on wikikidney.org
