Response to Single-Drug Antihypertensive Treatment: Variations Based on Age and/or Ethnicity

This slide talk is the third in a series of 9 new slide talks on the clinical pharmacology of antihypertensive drugs. It examines the use of single antihypertensive drugs from different classes as front-line therapy. The results of major clinical trials and meta-analyses are presented to demonstrate variations in the efficacy of the single drugs in treating hypertension and in preventing cardiovascular events and to show how age and ethnicity can determine how well patients with hypertension respond to monotherapy.

This CME activity has been approved for AMA PRA credit.
