North Fork Ranger District

Independence Creek Ford Replacement -This project consists of furnishing and installing a welded steel low water structure on precast concrete abutments in place of an existing unimproved ford on Independence Creek on Road No. 5440 on the Clearwater National Forest. Work includes riprap placement, government furnished aggregate placement, some reshaping of streambed and all other work needed to complete the project as required by the contract, plans, and specifications. The contractor must furnish all labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work according to the contract. The structure is located on the North Fork Ranger District in Section 33, T. 40 N., R.11 E., Clearwater County, Idaho.  The project is located approximately 61 miles from Pierce, Idaho.  Access from Pierce is via F.S. Roads 250, and 255. Road 5440 leaves road 255 approximately 15 miles from Kelly Work Center. Est. price:  $25,000 - $100,000. Est. start work: July 15, 2009. Total Hubzone set-aside. 

A pre-bid tour was held on October 23, 2008 at the project site.

Furnish all materials to mount and install Gov't furnished signing, install Gov't furnished signs. Total HubZone Set aside.  A pre-bid tour will be held at 10:00 a.m. October 21, 2008 at the project site. All interested offerors are encouraged to attend. Salmon River Ranger District

Vinegar Creek Boat Ramp Project -The work shall entail the reconstruction of the Vinegar Creek Boat Ramp on the Salmon River Ranger District. 

 

This work shall include the following: Manufacturing and delivery of 6 pre-cast concrete extensions as shown in drawings and as specified.

Installation of extension panels including all hardware, minor sediment removal at the base of the existing stationary boat ramp, drilling and installation of anchoring eye bolts to the boat ramp, and placement and connection of new extension panels as shown in drawings and as specified.   Project Location:  SW, SW, Sec 31, Township 1 South, Range 4 East - To reach the project site from Grangeville, ID, drive south on Hwy. 95 to Riggins, Idaho and turn east on the Salmon River Road. Drive approximately 26 miles to the end of the road and to the farthest upriver boat ramp at Vinegar Creek Recreation Site.

Statement of Work

Training in Application of Techniques for Estimating Sediment and Streamflow Production and Trends – Nez Perce National Forest

 

Contractors: Dr. John King, Hydrology Consulting

Mr. Robert Thomas, Statistical Consulting

Objectives: Provide training and instruction in quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for data preparation; provide training in application of appropriate software and techniques; assist in application of software and techniques to data from at least one new gaging site; and provide guidance and review of ongoing and completed work performed by Forest Service personnel.

 

The training in application of software and techniques would use work previously completed on the Main Fork and South Fork Red River.  New work would focus on Little Slate Creek and may involve application of additional techniques.  Following the 3-day training session, the contractors would be available for consultation and review of work through approximately June 30, 2009.  The contractors would provide the following services and products.

Garbage Collection/Disposal - The RFQ has eleven items located at various locations on the forest and at district offices.  It has been posted to Federal Business Opportunities with a closing date of October 24, 2008, 4 pm PDT.  The contractor will be required to supply dumpsters of varying sizes as stated in Section B of the RFQ.  Dumpsters are to be of the type used for commercial business and must be lidded to keep refuse from blowing and falling out.  Dumpsters located at Johnson Bar and O’Hara Campgrounds and the Fenn Ranger Station and Cedar Flats Work Center must be bear proof.
