Welcome to the Missouri Unemployment Insurance
On-Line Claims Filing System
On November 21, 2008, President Bush signed legislation providing additional weeks of Emergency Unemployment effective November 23, 2008. To make an initial application for additional weeks of benefits, call your Regional Claims Center. The initial application for additional weeks of benefits cannot be made on-line at our website.

The Division of Employment Security is in an extremely heavy workload period due to an increase in new claims being filed and the federal government's extension of unemployment benefits. The time it takes to determine eligibility for benefits has increased if you were separated from work for any reason other than a lack of work. The investigation process is currently taking six to eight weeks. Regional Claims Center representatives will be answering calls from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

The Internet claim filing system is designed to enable you to file a new, renewed or weekly claim. You will not be charged a fee for using this service.

NOTE: A NEW OR RENEWED CLAIM FOR BENEFITS SHOULD BE FILED AS SOON AS YOU BECOME UNEMPLOYED. Delaying the filing of your claim can result in loss of benefits.

If you are using a computer other than your own personal computer, please be aware you must enter identifying information (social security number, birth date, etc.) to complete the claim filing process. If you decide to stop the filing process prior to completing all screens, make sure you clear your identifying information.

This application requires accessing other computer records. If for some reason these records are not available, you will receive a message explaining this. Your initial or reopened claim will be effective the Sunday of the week in which you file it. If you believe your claim should be effective during a prior week, and you feel you can provide good cause beyond your control for late filing, you will need to use the telephone method of filing. NOTE: For automated information about your benefits, you must call the Regional Claims Center. You may call between 1:00 pm Sunday and 5:00 pm Friday (CDT/CST).

Important Notice! This is an application for unemployment insurance benefits. Intentionally submitting false information is a criminal act and will be prosecuted.
