Background:
The Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program is designed to ensure that all children and adolescents,
no matter where they live, attend school, or travel, receive appropriate care in a health emergency.
This program assists States in expanding and improving State and local capability for reducing pediatric emergencies in the State.
It leverages support from local public and private sources for sustainability. States report on data that include pediatric skill
competence and emergency education, emergency disaster plans, child death review, and the permanence of the emergency medical services system.
