about new and existing databases and clinical information systems, as
well as methods for using databases and information systems to aid their
research. Cyber seminars are available as live web conferences and as
on-demand archived presentations, available 24/7 as your schedule allows.

Introduction
In March 2006, the VA Information Resource Center (VIReC),
with assistance from the Center
for Information Dissemination and Education Resources (CIDER),
launched two cyber seminar series:
Clinical Informatics Cyber Seminar Series
These cyber seminars present expert discussion of key issues
in clinical informatics for VA researchers. Join experts from
VIReC and guest speakers for these lively and informative
presentations. Objectives for the series are to
- learn about applications in clinical informatics in research
and quality improvement efforts, both VA and non-VA efforts;
and
- understand approaches for evaluating clinical informatics
and IT interventions.
Seminars are held on the third Tuesday of the month from
12 – 1 pm (Eastern).
VA Databases and Methods Cyber Seminar Series
This series assists VA researchers in accessing and using
VA databases for research. Faculty from VIReC and guest lecturers
present these informational seminars to assist VA researchers
in accessing and using VA databases for research.
