University of Utah student Tim DeChristopher entered the Bureau of Land Management office in Salt Lake City when 149,000 acres were up for bid for the rights to drill. He left holding leases to 22,000 acres, which, he says, he doesn't plan to pay for.

Barack Obama won the Nov. 4, 2008, election's popular vote. He will be inaugurated as the 44th president on Jan. 20. Weeks are calculated from the Wednesday after the election to the following Tuesday.
