This report is designed to serve as an introduction, survey, and overview of EPA’s economic research studies funded by the Office of Research and Development and the Office of Policy as well as reports prepared by Agency staff, that are included within the Environmental Economics Report Inventory database (the EERI database contains over 570 records) as well as the NSF/EPA Funding for Environmental Economics database. The report also includes an appendix by Alan Carlin on the history of economic research and analysis in the EPA Office of Research and Development and the Office of Policy, Planning and Evaluation, its evolution over the period 1971-2005, and suggestions as to its longer-run significance.
This report was prepared under a cooperative agreement between the Environmental Law Institute and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and funded by the EPA Offices of Research and Development and of Policy, Planning and Evaluation.
