There was an Industry Advisory
Council meeting held December 9, 1999 at the NITAAC facilities on 6011
Executive Blvd. The following list identifies the attendees, their companies, and which contract
they
represent (if applicable): Dr. Lee (NITAAC), Stuart Kramer (Chairman,
MultiMax), Marie Monsees (NITAAC), Jeffrey Westerhoff (SRA
- CIO-SP), George Hollendursky (Lockheed/Martin - ImageWorld), Esther Burgess
(CSC - CIO-SP), Suzanne Killian-Gear (DoxSys - ImageWorld), Elmer Sembly
(NITAAC), Donald Wilson (NITAAC), Greg Holliday (NITAAC), Al Plyler (NITAAC)
and Pam Stearman (Intermetrics/AverStar - CIO-SP).
First, Stuart went over the last
meeting's minutes.
We then
discussed how NITAAC can get vendor comments on the CIO-SP and ImageWorld
procurement strategies. Greg is planning to issue a request for comments
in a CBD announcement. Responses will be sent to two electronic mailboxes; one
for CIO-SP and another for ImageWorld. The CBD announcement is expected
out before the end of the calendar year.
Marie
reported on the end-of-the-year sales numbers: ECS $288M, CIO-SP $240M, and
ImageWorld $44M.
Dr. Lee
stated that, at this time, NITAAC is planning to issue separate
RFPs for CIO-SP and ImageWorld.
The group then discussed what
changes could be made to strategically
re-align the existing contracts to the new directions and technologies
evolving in the Federal marketplace. It was suggested that the existing
8 task areas of the CIO-SP contract be changed to:
1. integrated services (all phases of lifecycle development including
BPR)
2. IT operations (network, telecom, LAN/WAN)
3. digital government
4. CriticaI Infrastructure Protection (CIP, which includes information
assurance)
5. ERP
6. Task Order management
For
ImageWorld, it was suggested that NITAAC combine the four lots into two new
areas: solutions (lots 3&4) and products (lots 1&2).
These
suggestions will be reviewed by NITAAC to determine if these
changes are appropriate.
The next meeting is Jan 13 at
the NITAAC facilities.
