  • Roslyn Stone, PhD has been selected as the Editor of the Biometric Bulletin, a publication of the International Biometric Society for a 3-year term (2009-2011). She is also a member of the program committee for the 2010 International Conference on Health Policy Statistics, sponsored by the Health Policy Statistics section of the American Statistical Association.
  • Michael Fine, MD, MSc presented information about VA health equity research at the NIH Summit, The Science of Eliminating Health Disparities, December 16-18, 2008 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention center in National Harbor, Maryland.   Over 4000 scientists, federal employees and other stakeholders attended this summit.
  • Steven Weisbord, MD will receive a VA HSR&D Career Development Transition Award and Leslie Hausmann, PhD will receive a five-year VA HSR&D Career Development Award.
  • Judith Long, MD has secured funding for her VA HSR&D Merit Review project, Determinants of Diabetes Control in Veterans with Serious Mental Illness.
  • Mary Ann Sevick, ScD, MS received notification that her VA HSR&D Merit Review project proposal was successful. The title is, Expert System-Based Feedback in Sedentary Overweight Veterans.
  • Armando Rotondi, PhD won funding for, Treatment of OIF/OEF Veteran Neuropsychiatric Symptoms Following TBI, a VA HSR&D Merit Review project.
  • Sylvia Rosas, MD, MSCE recently received notification of funding for her R01 proposal, Carotid Intima-Media Thickness in Chronic Kidney Disease: a CRIC ancillary study.
