Portraits of Life in the World's Most Remote Island Sanctuary are an amazing set of photographs, taken on location in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands by David Littschwager and Susan Middleton, are now on display at the Kaua‘i Museum.

Building upon previous efforts to develop research priorities for the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument, a Natural Resources Science Plan will be developed for the ecosystems of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. At the meeting, Monument managers and scientists will present a review of the plan’s proposed research framework, click here for more informaiton.

Seeing Through a Different Lens • 11am
A talk with Dr. Randy Kosaki • Maui Arts & Cultural Center
Program Director Hōkūlani Holt-Padilla plays host to an insightful discussion based on the cultural connections of Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument.Dr. Randy Kosaki, research coordinator and chief scientist for the Monument, will discuss the importance of protecting this vast wilderness that contains important natural and cultural heritage resources. SEPTEMBER 15: HONOLULU, O‘AHU
3rd Annual NOAA Cleanup Day &"Get the Drift and Bag it!"
This statewide marine debris clean up event is part of the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup. NOAA staff will be cleaningup from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor and Magic Island area.
