Meeting President and Mrs. Coolidge

Keller also got to meet Mrs. Grace Coolidge on her visit to Washington DC. Mrs. Coolidge was as vivacious as her husband was shy. Keller and Mrs. Coolidge shared a passion for helping people with disabilities. Keller kept in contact with both the President and Mrs. Coolidge after the visit.

Throughout her life, Keller used her fame to promote causes she believed in, like the American Foundation for the Blind. She took every opportunity to meet important people and talk to them about disabled people and social justice.
