26 Mar 2004: Women Sustaining the American Spirit: Business Leader of the Year to Talk at NIEHS

The public is invited to attend a talk by Dr. Victoria Haynes (http://www.rti.org/page.cfm?objectid=EB08EE37-2D64-4A28-A385CE0CB0A4E7E3) Exit NIEHS Website, President of RTI International and 2003 Business Leader of the Year. Sponsored by the Diversity Council at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, Dr. Haynes is the featured speaker for the 2004 Spirit Lecture.

Successfully navigating today's workplace involves balancing responsibilities for our families, our jobs, and the multiple roles we participate in as we mentor and outreach to the wider community, all of which compete for our time and talents.

In honor of Women's History Month, the NIEHS Spirit Lecture series recognizes outstanding women who have achieved this balance in their lives. By sharing their experiences with the community they will inspire us to achieve a balance between the competing aspects of our lives, thereby becoming better scientists and better members of our families and our communities. A reception will follow.

Part of the National Institutes of Health, NIEHS conducts and supports research to reduce the burden of human illness and dysfunction from environmental causes by understanding environmental factors, individual susceptibility and age and by discovering how these influences interrelate.
