HUD's Remodeling, Repair, and Painting Training Curriculum

 Information by State
 Print version

A Joint EPA-HUD Course available in English and Spanish

This Lead Safe Work Practices training course, referred to by some as "The RRP Course," is based on EPA's and HUD's previous model courses in lead-safe work practices. The audience for this course includes renovators, remodelers, painters, and maintenance personnel. This course helps enhance their credentials as private contractors, and satisfies HUD requirements for interim controls training in federally assisted housing. Trainers should tailor the course to highlight information and excercises to best meet the needs of their audience. The curriculum has an introduction and five instructional modules, each with options for interactive exercises. The course duration is 6-1/2 hours, including the end-of-course test. The student's manual consists of pages of slides with notes; the instructor's manual also has an additional page of notes for each of the student's pages. In addition, the curriculum has a overall chapter of notes to the instructor, and nine informational appendices.
