FLITE Program Industry Day Conference - February 12, 2008

General Information

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has a critical need for an integrated financial and asset management capability.  The Financial and Logistics Integrated Technology Enterprise (FLITE) Program is the initiative the VA has undertaken to deliver such a capability.  The mission of the FLITE Program is to standardize functional processes and modernize the information technology (IT) environment that supports financial and logistics management within VA.  The program has two primary components, an asset management component referred to as Strategic Asset Management (SAM) project, and a financial management component referred to as Integrated Financial Accounting System (IFAS).  The FLITE Program also includes requirements for Program Management Support, Organizational Change Management and Independent Verification and Validation.

An Industry Day Conference for these anticipated requirements was held on February 12, 2008 at the MITRE Corporation, MITRE McLean Campus located at 7515 Colshire Drive, McLean, VA 22102-7508.

Note:  After re-evaluation of SAM acquisition milestones, the Millennia Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC) is no longer a viable option for SAM Pilot and Beta.  VA is considering other GWACs.  An announcement on the VA FLITE website will be made prior to the solicitation being issued.
