Bedford VA is a long-term care facility specializing in geriatric and psychiatric care.  Comprehensive health services include mental health, medicine, psychiatry, physical medicine, dentistry, geriatrics and ambulatory care.

Research Program:

The Research Department is internationally recognized for its study of Geriatric Research and other behavioral disorders.

Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) - was created to enhance the care of aged veterans through a comprehensive and integrated program of basic and applied research. This state of the art program provides clinical outpatient services with a 100+ inpatient bed respite care program.  The adult day care treatment center uses a holistic approach to restore, maintain and stimulate each participant's capacity for independence.

Special Programs:

Mental Health Intensive Case Management Program (MHICM) -  serves veterans with serious mental illnesses.  The program fosters self-sufficiency and independent living in the community.

Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) - Bedford VA has one of the largest CWT programs within VA.  The program addresses the vocational needs of veterans through assessment, counseling and on-the-job training, while helping veterans plan for rehabilitation and recovery.
