The advertisements that appeared in Science for a Staff Scientist and two Research Fellow positions have now closed. Please continue to check back for future openings.

We have openings for post doctoral fellows in the following areas: Radiochemistry, PET/SPECT instrumentation, Molecular Biology (prostate cancer) and MRI probe development

Jurgen Seidel, Ph.D. is a PET/SPECT engineer who will join Mike Green as an SAIC consultant to build a flat panel microSPECT camera as a first project. The Green/Seidel team built the ATLAS microPET which still has one of the highest spatial resolutions among micorPET units.

Dr. Yoshinori Koyama, M.D. joins the MIP from Gunma University Hospital in Gunma Japan. He is a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist and is working with Dr. Kobayashi.

Dr. Yukihiro Hama joins us from the Radiation Biology Branch. Dr. Hama is a clinical Radiologist from Japan and is working with Kobayashi on optical imaging.

Iclal Ocak, M.D. is a radiologist from Ankara Turkey. She joins us as a CRTA fellow and will be involved in clinical DCE MRI and clinical and experimental prostate cancer imaging
Dr. Tristan Barrett graduated from medical school in the U.K. in 2002 and has been a senior house officer in hosptials in the London area including S. George's Hospital, London. Dr. Barrett intends to pursue a residency in radiology. He will be involved in clinical research projects in the Molecular Imaging Program.
Mike Green is an internationally known expert in imaging physics. He has published extensively (some 250 peer-reviewed papers and abstracts) and has been an invited speaker at many national and international meetings. Mr. Green has been instrumental in establishing the field of samll animal PET imaging through his efforts as an organizer and promoter of small aninmal imaging both within the U.S. and on an international scale. During the past decade, Mr. Green as leader of an imaging physics research laboratory, developed arguably one of the most advanced small animal PET scanners in existance and created many collaborative relationships that cross the biomedical research spectrum in order to fully exploit this technology.
Molecular Imaging Program News
June 1st 2004 marked the opening of the Molecular Imaging Program on the Bethesda Campus of NIH. Peter Choyke, M.D. is Chief of the MIP

Hisataka Kobayashi, M.D., Ph.D. has joined the MIP as a Staff Scientist. Dr. Kobayashi has worked extensively with PET and MRI contrast agents and has special expertise in dendrimer nanoparticles

Marcelino Bernardo joins the MIP from Exxon Mobil Corporation where he conducted research in high field NMR. He is now the Chief of MR Physics in the MIP and is involved with both human and animal MR/Optical imaging

Martin Brechbiel, Ph.D. is a adjunct faculty member of the MIP. Dr. Brechbiel is a pioneer in chelation chemistry for radioimmunotherapy and imaging. His group, the Radioimmunotherapy and inorganic chemistry section(RICS) is actively coordinating with MIP to develop new imaging agents.

Karen Wong, M.S. joins the MIP as research biologist with expertise in cell culture and biodistribution experiments.
