DMG and The Living Desert Partner for California’s Mojave Max Emergence Contest

The Desert Managers Group and The Living Desert announce the official opening of the annual Mojave Max Emergence Contest (www.mojavemax.com). This year California will have its own desert tortoise to mark the beginning of spring. California’s Mojave Max will reside at The Living Desert in Palm Desert California.

Proposed 29Palms Training Land/Airspace Acquisition Project Public Meetings

On behalf of the United States Marine Corps regarding the Proposed 29Palms Training Land/Airspace Acquisition Project, the Navy invites you to participate in the project scoping meetings for an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). These meetings offer more information about this project and they will provide you with an opportunity to share your views on the issues and alternatives that are being proposed for study in the EIS. Please view the postcard to find out how you can become involved.

If you are unable to attend these scoping meetings, there is a 90-day public comment period. Comments related the development of this EIS must be received by 31 Jan 2009.

Desert Managers Group Awarded Off Highway Vehicle Green Sticker Funds

The Desert Managers Group announces the Desert Tortoise Outreach Project has been awarded a $95,000 grant from California State Parks Off Highway Vehicle Recreation Commission. OHV grants are awarded to cities, counties, special districts, federal agencies and non-profit organizations.
