October — NWFSC will join NOAA West in presenting a One–NOAA exhibit that highlights opportunities for Science teachers.
 
NOAA Teacher Training at PSC
October — Teachers are invited to attend a 2–day workshop at the Pacific Science Center to learn about lesson plans designed to teach about NOAA Science.
 
Salmon Homecoming
September — Center staff participate in School Days, teaching students about salmon and their habitat with our interactive booth and activities
 
Gear Up! Workshops
June & August — Center scientists partner with JISAO to present "Get hooked on Marine science" workshops to youth participating in the Experience College Life and Honors Academy summer programs at UW.
 
NOAA Science Camp
July — Join NOAA scientists for a week-long summer camp! Each day is filled with fun projects and activities that explore the mysteries of our oceans and atmosphere.
 
NOAA Weekend at the Pacific Science Center
June — Tour the Treasure of NOAA»s Ark exhibit and participate in special programs designed for families to get to know NOAA Science.
 
Newport Seafest
July — Join NOAA scientists for a week-long summer camp! Each day is filled with fun projects and activities that explore the mysteries of our oceans and atmosphere.
 
NOAA Kids Day at the NWFSC
May — Kids are invited to visit our Montlake research Center for a morning of interactive activities and touring labs. Learn what it»s like to be a marine scientist!
 
Kitsap Co. Water Festival
March — Center staff talk about the effects of pollution on salmon at this annual event for fourth graders to learn about the many aspects of water quality and water usage.
 
Tacoma-Pierce Co. Water for Life Festival
March — Fifth graders learn about marine science with our Center staff at this one day festival held at Pacific Lutheran University.
 
Expanding your Horizons
March — Center staff present three workshops on "Swim with the Salmon" at Seattle University during this one–day conference for 6th–8th grade girls to explore math, science and technology.
 
UW Career Fair
February — Center staff talk to students at this event hosted by the University of Washington College of Ocean Sciences.
 
Storming the Sound
February — Center staff participate in this gathering of environmental educators that includes workshops on regional EE issues and opportunities to network.
 
Orca Bowl
February — Center staff volunteer to help run this annual competition at the University of Washington where high school teams test their knowledge of ocean science and the winners move on to the national competition.
 
UW Career Fair
January — Center staff talk to students at this event hosted by the University of Washington Program of the Environment.
 
H2O/OHH Seminar Series
Winter semester 07 — Sponsored by the University of Washington's Pacific Northwest Center for Human Health and Ocean Sciences and the West Coast Center for Oceans and Human Health (OHH). Look for details about the continuation of the series in the Fall 2006.
 
SMART girls
Ongoing — Center staff present after school programs to encourage girls to pursue careers in math and science.
