First, the Varney Creek Road Reconstruction Project will improve traffic safety by realigning Varney Creek Road (Forest Road 3610) with Highway 140. The project will also improve the first 0.7 miles through private lands, bringing it up to County standards by widening the road, improving drainage, and adding base rock and surfacing. Limited reconstruction will take place on this road from the end of private land to the entrance of the Mountain Lakes Organization Camp, another 0.7 miles through National Forest System lands.
