Miller Lake is a popular fishing spot in northern Klamath County. The lake supports healthy populations of brown, brook, and rainbow trout, and kokanee salmon. The purpose of the project is to provide shoreline habitat that will attract catchable size fish to increase harvest by bank anglers near the campground.

Photo of Miller LakeThe project will place trees in the water along the lakeshore. Windthrown trees will be transported from nearby areas and may be staged in the boat trailer parking lot near Digit Point Campground. Trees will be placed to mimic a natural look and arrangement as closely as possible (see photo).

A helicopter is the preferred method for placement of trees. Transport and placement of the trees will take into consideration the safety of campers and boaters. The project will begin after Digit Point recreation facilities are closed for the fall/winter season.
