Decision 2: With the second decision approximately 3,600 acres of commercial timber harvest from Alternative 3 in the Jakabe Environmental Assessment (EA)would be treated. These acres were not selected with the April 2006 Jakabe Decision Notice (modified Alternative 3). These 3,600 acres represent the remaining commercially viable portions of Alternative 3, as it was analyzed in the EA. This decision will hereafter be referred to as "Second Jakabe Decision Notice" or "Second Jakabe DN." No further commercial timber harvest, beyond that described in this Decision Notice, is anticipated from the Jakabe Restoration Project Environmental Assessment.

Decision 1: The Paisley District Ranger proposes vegetative treatments that are designed to move habitats toward more historical conditions. These projects are grouped into four different scenarios based on plant community type, present size and structure of the vegetation, and the historical fire frequency. These scenarios cover the major ecotypes across the Chewaucan Watershed and address the recommendations cited in the Chewaucan watershed analysis. While this analysis addresses conditions over the area, this does not mean that all of the area mapped would be treated. Analysis by the interdisciplinary team and the comments received will determine the location of treatments. Some of the activities addressed in this analysis do not require completion of an Environmental Analysis. Decisions on those projects are also listed here.
