What is SDTS:
The Spatial Data Transfer Standard (SDTS)
is published as Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) number 173.
The Point Profile (SDTS part 6) is published by the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC).
This format is intended to be used for the transfer of data into a GIS
or automated mapping system.
Check with your GIS vendor concerning the current or planned
availability of an
SDTS Point Profile translator
for your system.
