Office of Accident Investigation

The Office of Accident Investigation is the principal organization within the FAA with respect to aircraft accident investigation and all activities related to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Our mission is to investigate aviation accidents and incidents to detect unsafe conditions and trends and to coordinate the corrective action process. We accomplish our responsibilities in a variety of ways including: We provide Preliminary Accident Data and Incident Data for the last ten working days. These data are available as ASCII text in several report categories.
