Features and Functions

TRANSIMS analyzes on a micro level and provide a wealth of demographic information for every simulated traveler. This pairing allows an accurate analysis of traffic-related information on any segment of the population. Some of the results that TRANSIMS can provide:
  • Analysis of traffic over the entire transportation network of a metropolitan area, including local streets and highway ramps.
  • Precise speed and acceleration information for every single vehicle at any second of the day.
  • Detailed information on each vehicle's status and location.
  • Second-by-second information allowing for a much more precise analysis of time-of-the-day effects.
