Project Number | 14 |
Date of Summary | September 30, 1982 |
Subject | Fluidic Sensor for Hydrocarbon & Hydrogen Sulfide Gas |
Performing Activity | TriTec Corporation |
Principal Investigator | Mr. George Stevens |
Contracting Agency | Harry Diamond Laboratories |
Estimated Completion | Complete |
Description | Develop technology for sensing hydrogen sulfide and hydrocarbon gas on an offshore structure by means of a fluidic gas concentration sensor. |
Progress | Complete. The project was deemed complete because of improvements in electronic sensing systems. Fluidic techniques were designed and evaluated as detectors of hydrogen sulfide and hydrocarbon gas. Experiments with the fluidic gas concentration sensor conclude that a resistor bridge circuit appears to be the most appropriate but several technical problems need be overcome, such as signal to noise from fluid flow. |
