Education and Training Materials
We encourage strong security education programs through our directives, oversight program, and its own active participation. We also extend our ability to enhance training through the production of pamphlets, videos, and other tools, which allow it to reach a larger audience. We believes that security education is critical to the success of the security classification and declassification program.
Marking Booklet* -This 32 page product has been updated to reflect changes in the marking procedures that resulted from the issuance of Executive Order 12958, as amended on March 28, 2003, and Classified National Security Information Directive No. 1 on September 22, 2003 (Posted May 27, 2005).
The SF312 Briefing Booklet (PDF Format) provides information about the "Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement," also known as the "SF 312." It includes a brief discussion of the background and purpose of the SF 312; the text of pertinent legislative and executive authorities; a series of questions and answers on its implementation; and a copy of the SF 312.
Guidance on Changes to Classified Document Markings.* This is a 4 page summarization of the changes that resulted from the issuance of Executive Order 12958, as amended on March 28, 2003, and Classified National Security Information Directive No. 1 on September 22, 2003 (Posted October 10, 2003).

Executive Order 12829, "The National Industrial Security Program" (the "NISP"), was established to achieve cost savings and protect classified information held by contractors, licensees, and grantees of the United States Government. The Order was signed by President Bush in January of 1993. ISOO has produced the following education products on the NISP that are used primarily by Government and industry:
