NOS Education Discovery Kit: Corals
The National Ocean Service (NOS) Education Discovery Kit: Corals is designed for educators and students at the high school level.
The Corals Discovery Kit contains:
- a Tutorial that incorporates photographs, videos, illustrations, and interactive graphics to enhance the text and bring understanding to concepts that may be difficult to visualize.
- a Roadmap to Resources that guides educators and students to specific coral data offerings within the NOS and NOAA family of products.
- a series of Lesson Plans that bring together the information presented in the Tutorial with data offerings from the Roadmap. The Lesson Plans focus on the benefits of coral reefs to humans, the major threats to coral reefs today, and how satellites are used to monitor and maintain the health of these fragile ecosystems.
