construction projects
Keeping you informed about all of the exciting developments that are happening within our system is important to us. Click on the links below to learn more about our major construction/expansion projects.

  • Malcom Randall VAMC (Gainesville) - A number of new projects are in development for the Gainesville facility:  A new 228-bed tower will be constructed over the next 30 months, a 400 space parking garage is being designed, and we are exploring options for moving some services off-site to better meet access needs of our patients.  As we move forward with these projects, we will experience some "growing pains" - especially with regard to parking at Gainesville.  A number of measures have been implemented to help alleviate some of the parking issues, including new off-site parking locations for employees and patients.
  • The Villages OPC - Construction of a 90,000 square foot multi-specialty outpatient clinic began Jun3 2008.  The facility will be located at  8900 SE 165th Mulberry Lane, The Villages, Florida 32162 and will replace the existing community based outpatient clinic (CBOC) located at 1950 Laurel Manor Drive, Building 240, The Villages, Florida, Florida 32162.  The new clinic will provide a broad range of general and specialized medical, dental, surgical, psychiatric, nursing and ancillary services.  Construction is expected to be complete in early 2010.
