Continuing Education Credit

Continuing education credits can be earned for completing the PTSD 101 courses. See below for additional information regarding the process. CE Credits are now available.

VA Employees

VA LMS on-line learning internal registration:

  1. If you have not used the VA LMS before, you may wish to view the VA LMS User Quick Reference for login instructions.
  2. Log on to the VA LMS.
  3. In the Search Catalog box, enter "PTSD 101"
  4. Next to the course you have taken, select "Add to Learning Plan".
  5. Next to your course listing on the Learning Plan, select "Go to Content".
  6. If you have finished the course, click on "Link to Evaluation and Certificate". Your test will appear and upon successful completion (80% correct) you will have access to print your certificate.

Instructions to Find the Post Test

  1. Go to one of the two sites above.
  2. To find the PTSD 101 Courses, click on the EXPLORE tab.
  3. Click on "Diagnostic and Clinical Topics"
  4. To Register: Click on the course you want, or on "Sign-up".
  5. Then go to My Courses. The course should now show up (may still be in a Diagnostic and Clinical Topics folder). When you click on the course name it will bring you to the test.

After registering on either the internal or external web sites, complete the
post test and evaluation. If you receive a test score of no lower than 80%, you
can print a certificate of completion. If necessary, you may retake the test.

Accreditation

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Employee Education System (VA-EES) is responsible for the accreditation for PTSD 101. VA-EES has worked closely with the following accrediting bodies to offer Continuing Education Units for each of the PTSD 101 courses.

American Medical Association

Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) The VA Employee Education System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

VA Employee Education System is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

California Board of Registered Nursing (CA BRN)

The VA Employee Education System is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

American Psychological Association (APA)

The VA Employee Education System (EES) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Employee Education System maintains responsibility for each program and its content.

Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)

VA Employee Education System, Provider Number 1040, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), (1-800-225-6880) through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. VA Employee Education System maintains responsibility for the program.



Each fiscal year VA’s Employee Education System (EES) has content experts review each course. Each course is assigned a new course number and each brochure is revised. Continuing education credits are available until 9/30/2009.
