U. S. Forest Service Seeks Cooperation with Upper Fraser Closures (December 20, 2007) - The Sulphur Ranger District seeks the public's help during the next few months. Mountain Pine Beetle mitigation work is taking place in the Upper Fraser area and people are disregarding the District's efforts to keep people out of active logging areas.

District Volunteers Donate 34,112 Hours (December 14, 2007) - For the second year in a row, the Canyon Lakes Ranger District’s volunteers ranked second in the nation for the number of hours dedicated to the U.S. Forest Service.

Opportunity to Comment on Willow Creek Salvage and Fuels Reduction Project (December 13, 2007) - The Sulphur Ranger District of the U.S. Forest Service is proposing the Willow Creek Salvage and Fuel Reduction project to address impacts from the mountain pine beetle infestation that includes timber harvest and use of prescribed and natural fire.

Winter Regulations in Effect for Brainard Lake Recreation Area (November 15, 2007) - The Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests would like to remind visitors that winter regulations for the Brainard Lake Recreation Area are now in effect. The designated winter season is November 15 through April 30. Management regulations are designed to promote safety, reduce conflicts between different users and enhance the winter recreation experience for all.

Cameron Pass Nordic Rangers Seek Members; Volunteer Nearly 2,200 Hours Last Season (October 25, 2007) - The Cameron Pass Nordic Rangers are seeking volunteers for the 2007-2008 season and are kicking the season off with an informational meeting on November 14.

Local Fire Crews to Battle California Blazes (October 24, 2007) - Forty local firefighters leave tonight for the Poomacha Fire in southern California.

Fire Danger High for Fall Hunting Seasons (October 11, 2007) - The U.S. Forest Service would like to remind our visitors to help prevent wildfires as they enjoy the warm weather during fall camping and hunting trips.

Proposed Communication Site Public Meeting Scheduled (October 3, 2007) - On November 8, the U.S. Forest Service is hosting a public meeting to discuss the proposed communication facility on Middle Bald Mountain. Pawnee National Grassland to Manage Crow Valley Recreation Area (August 30, 2007) - On September 4, 2007, the Pawnee National Grassland (PNG) will officially take over campground duties from Thousand Trails, Inc., a private concessionaire that has managed the PNG’s Crow Valley Recreation Area since 2001.

Cattle Return to the Pawnee National Grassland (August 20, 2007) - Cattle will be allowed to return to graze on at least ten allotments on the Pawnee National Grassland after an increase in rainfall in late July and early August increased the amount of available forage.

Winter Pile Burning Begins (January 18, 2007) - The Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland is planning to take advantage of the snowfall this winter and burn numerous slash piles left by fuels reduction projects.

Scoping Comment Period Extended: Forest Service Studying Proposed Communications Facility Atop Middle Bald Mountain (January 3, 2007) - In keeping with its commitment to respond to public concerns, the U.S. Forest Service is extending the period for scoping comments on its study of a proposed radio communications facility at the top of 11,000-foot Middle Bald Mountain, about 40 miles northwest of Fort Collins.
