Interagency Recreation Passes
Golden
passports are the old passes to federal lands that charge a
fee. These types of passes are still valid until expiration. There
were three types of passports available:
- Golden Eagle
- Golden Age (Lifetime)
- Golden Access (Lifetime)
The new passes are Interagency Passes. These passes are honored
nationwide at all U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau
of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife
Service sites charging entrance or standard amenity fees. There
are four types of passes available.
The Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National
Grassland does not have a general entrance fee. The Mount Evans
Recreation Area on the Clear Creek Ranger District, the Arapaho
National Recreation Area on the Sulphur Ranger District, and
the Brainard
Lake Recreation Area on the Boulder Ranger District charge standard
amenity fees for the use of those areas. All of these areas honor
the Golden Passports and Interagency Passes. .
Contact the nearest office to find out more information about these
passes.
