Public Meetings on the
Draft Monument Management Plan
Ten public
meetings regarding the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument
Draft Management Plan (DMMP) and associated Environmental Assessment (EA) were held between June 9-24, 2008.
Each meeting began with an overview of the Monument and the structure of the plan itself. A question and answer period was then provided and each meeting ended with a period for public comment.
The window for public comment began prior to the meetings on April 23, 2008 and will run through July 23, 2008. The original end date was July 8, 2008 but the period has been extended an additional 15 days.
