CDC/NIOSH Health Hazard Evaluation Program

Occupational Medicine Rotation

This document outlines the goals and content of the occupational medicine rotation offered by the Health Hazard Evaluation (HHE) program. The HHE program is a Congressionally-mandated NIOSH program that investigates workplace hazards and potential work-related health effects. The rotation is typically completed by residents in occupational medicine training programs, therefore, the term "resident" is used throughout this description. The rotation is, however, also available as an elective to medical students and students in other health professions.
