In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first state issued license plate, a special edition Centennial Plate will be available for purchase for a limited time between October 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009. Centennial Plates can be ordered
online, by mail, or in person at any Division Facility for a one-time fee of $100.
This specially designed plate will have a black onyx background with heritage gold letters and numbers. It may be displayed on all vehicles except motorcycles, mopeds, and IRP apportioned vehicles and can be purchased for both a regular plate number and vanity tag. Buy one today for yourself and family members! It would make a wonderful birthday or holiday gift as well as a smart limited-edition investment that will only increase in value. Important Notice: When a vehicle is sold (transferred), the plate number goes with the vehicle. In the event you trade or sell your vehicle and wish to keep your Centennial Plate, you must appear at the DMV with the title prior to transferring the vehicle to retain your plate. Title fees will be charged. Please contact your nearest DMV facility for further information. |
