Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
The codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government. It is divided into 50 titles that represent broad areas subject to Federal regulation. This site allows the public to see information pertaining to awarded NOAA grants, such as grant recipients, grant amounts, project titles, and project periods.  Searches can be made using a number of parameters, including NOAA line offices/programs, funded year, project title, project description, PI name, recipient name, project period, congressional districts, catalog of federal domestic assistance number, and others.

Central Contractor Registry (CCR)
This is the primary vendor database for the U.S. Federal Government.  CCR validates applicant information and electronically shares  secure and encrypted data with the Federal agencies' finance offices to facilitate paperless payments through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number
The White House Office of Management and Budget uses this unique nine digit number to identify organizations that receive  grant awards and to track dispersed grants
The use of this number improves statistical reporting of Federal grants.

Operational Research Consultants (Grants.gov’s Credential Provider)
As the credential provider, this organization verifies that an individual is who she or he claims to be.  After you register with the Credential Provider, you will receive a username and password which you will need to register with Grants.gov.
