DataSpeak Podcasts

All of our DataSpeak programs are made available as streaming archives a few weeks after the program is over. Some of our programs are made available as PodCasts as well, so you will be able to experience the archives from your portable device.

What is podcasting?
Podcasting is a way of making a live broadcast available on demand. Podcasts typically are downloaded from Web sites and played on your computer or on a portable media player such as an iPod®. More information about podcasting is available through the following Web sites: Wikipedia; Yahoo® Podcasts.

What do I need to play the podcast?
If your computer has a sound card, speakers and can play mp3 audio files, you already are able to listen to podcast audio on your computer. If you want to play the full audio/video podcast and/or subscribe to the DataSpeak podcasts, which will send you all new podcasts automatically, you will need subscription software, also called a “podcatcher.” Options include the latest version of Apple® iTunes® or Yahoo® Podcasts (which have the software built in), or other services, such as Odeo® or Juice, to manage your podcast subscriptions. If you want to make your audio portable, you will need to transfer them from your computer to a portable media player.

How do I subscribe to this program as a podcast?
If you want to receive all new DataSpeak program titles as they are published, you can subscribe to the entire DataSpeak series. You will need to add “podcatching” software to your computer (see above links).

Please copy the entire URL in the box below into your preferred podcasting software. You will receive all DataSpeak programs as they are posted. There is no charge to subscribe.

  • An example of subscribing using Apple® iTunes®:
    1. Open iTunes (.e.g click "Start"->"Programs"->"iTunes"->"iTunes")
    2. Click "Advanced"->"Subscribe to podcast".
    3. Paste the above subscription URL in the "URL" field and click "OK".
    4. Click "Podcasts" from the "LIBRARY" menu on the left and choose "Dataspeak Webcasts" from the list on the right.
    5. Click the "Get" button to the next of the requested Podcast to download it to your local computer.
    6. Play the Podcast or synchronize it with your iPod.

System Requirements:
The following table summarizes the minimum hardware and software requirements to download the audio onto a computer or portable audio device.
