AUSTIN, Texas -- The FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Center at the Evadale Fire Department in Evadale is relocating to a new site in Jasper County, after close of business on Friday, Nov. 7. The new center is scheduled to open from Sunday through Wednesday, Nov. 9-12, to provide face-to-face assistance to those who suffered damage from Hurricane Ike.

Residents are encouraged to register with FEMA before visiting a center. There are two ways to register: log on to www.fema.gov or call FEMA's toll free number, 1-800-621-3362, or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech- and hearing-impaired. Both numbers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice.
