Courthouse from Southbound Interstate 581:
From Interstate 581 take the Elm
Avenue exit (Exit 6). Turn right (West) onto Elm Avenue.
Turn right onto Franklin Road at the 4th traffic light.
The Federal Courthouse will be on your right, at the
intersection of Franklin Road and 3rd Street.

Northbound Interstate 581/Route 220:
From Interstate 581 take the Elm

From Interstate 64
take the 5th Street (Exit 120) North. Travel along
5th Street extension passing three traffic lights
until you arrive at the intersection of Main Street
and Water Street. The Federal Courthouse will be on
the right corner, adjacent to the Charlottesville
Omni Hotel.
Directions to the
Courthouse from Route 29:
From Route 29 take
the Route. 250 Bypass East. Travel along the 250
Bypass turning right onto McIntire Road. After
passing the light at Preston Avenue, the
Charlottesville Omni Hotel will be on your left.
Turn into the Omni's Parking lot and the Federal
Courthouse will be on your right.

Courthouse:
From US 29 Expressway
North, take Main Street Exit marked Downtown. At the end
of the ramp, bear right and go through three traffic
lights. The U. S. Courthouse is on the right at the
corner of Eleventh and Main Streets.
From US 29 Expressway
South, take the Main Street Exit. At the end of the
ramp, there is a traffic light. Turn left and go through
two more traffic lights on Main Street. You will see the
Courthouse on the right at the corner of Eleventh and
Main Streets.
From US 460 heading East,
turn at the left-hand exit marked "To Buena Vista 501".
Go through two traffic lights. Take the exit to the
right for US 29 North. Take the Main Street Exit marked
Downtown. At the end of ramp, bear right and go through
three traffic lights. The U. S. Courthouse is on the
right at the corner of Eleventh and Main Streets.
From US 460 heading West,
take the 501 to 29 N Exit, follow signs to US 29 North.
Take Main Street Exit marked Downtown. At the end of the
ramp, bear right and come through three traffic lights.
The U. S. Courthouse is on the right at the corner of
Eleventh and Main Streets.

Courthouse:
From Highway 23
North, take the first Big Stone Gap exit (Highway 23
Business); if you are traveling Highway 23 South,
you need to take the second Big Stone Gap exit. At
the end of this exit, turn left. Follow Highway 23
Business to the fourth light. Turn left at the
fourth light onto Clinton Avenue. Drive one block;
the public parking lot is on the right (this is
behind the Courthouse).
When you enter Big
Stone Gap from Highway 58 Alternate, the Courthouse
will be on your right at the first stop light. Turn
right at this light. The public parking lot is
behind the courthouse. At the stop sign, turn right
onto Clinton Avenue for the entrance to the parking
lot.

on Main Street. Cross Dan River and continue on Main
Street until you reach the intersection of Main and
Ridge Streets.

247 B). Travel along East Market Street until you arrive
at the fifth traffic light at the intersection of East
Market Street and Mason Street. Turn right onto Mason
Street and go to the next stop light at the intersection
of Mason Street and Elizabeth Street. Make a left onto
Elizabeth Street and park in the parking garage. The U.
S. Post Office and Federal Courthouse will be in front
of the Parking Garage on the corner of Elizabeth Street
